If you’ve ever found yourself staring at a few tablespoons of canned pumpkin wondering what to do with it or how, you’ve come to the right place!

It turns out that recipes that use an entire 15-ounce can of pumpkin are sometimes few and far between. And actually for good reason. Adding the entire amount of pumpkin (a little less than two cups) to a recipe that only calls for 1 cup pumpkin can lead to baked goods that are heavy, filling – and may not turn out well.

Never fear! There are so many other ways to spend all that pumpkin money!

You can open the Pumpkin puree with a spoon that holds the last part of the pumpkin.

3 easy ways to deal with leftover pumpkin

  1. Store leftover pumpkin puree in the refrigerator for up to a week. It can be used straight from the fridge in any recipe that calls for canned pumpkin (or in any of the ideas listed below).
  2. Store leftover pumpkin puree for several months. Store in freezer safe bags (press out all air and seal) or freezer safe containers. Thaw before using recipes.
  3. Double the recipe to use all the pumpkin. If a recipe calls for 3/4 cup canned pumpkin, an easy way to not get stuck with leftover pumpkin is to resize the recipe.

If you have sharp bits of leftover pumpkin in your freezer, Consider using one of the many methods below! Stuffed pumpkin is incredibly versatile and can be used in many pumpkin recipes with great results. ⬇️⬇️
