The most popular recipes for soups and delicious mountain soups full of vegetables and proteins, they are the ones I come back to often!
When the weather turns cold, I go straight into soup cooking mode. Something about a pot bubbler on the stove just makes everything a little quieter, a little cozier, and so much more.
This is my second favorite soup of all time – the ones that have been loved, shared, and made over and over again in my kitchen (and yours!) for years. From comforting soups that are creamy and smooth, to healthy stews full of vegetables and protein, they’re the ones I come back to again and again.
So grab your soup pot (or your slow cooker, or your instant pot) and your ladle and let’s sit down. ❤️

Pairing with these soups
Let’s have a meal! These are some of my favorite things to pair with a bowl of soup – whether it’s a side dish, a thick slice of bread on the swoosh, or a side salad to bring unity to the table. They are essential ingredients for soup!
Breads and carbs
- No bread pushed: If you think you can’t make homemade bread, you definitely need to try this. It doesn’t feed – it means all you need to do is mix, rest, and bake. This goes with everything!
- Garlic Bread: I don’t think I’ll need to buy garlic bread from the store again. I tend to make a lot of these loaves stuck in the fridge, so I can just grab some garlic bread to bake all winter long.
- SOCCA: This stuff is amazing with that red soup, but it’s also a great high protein, gluten-free alternative to your regular bread. It has a really delicious texture, is easy to make, and can be made with just one ingredient at a moment’s notice!
Left-handed
- Simple green salad: I almost always have all the ingredients on hand for this – it’s a simple balsamic dressing tossed with vegetables that I can laugh with in the soup on this list.
- Kale Salad: This is very simple and very good. The breadcrumbs and parmesan really brought a wonderful texture and crunch!
- Avocado Caesar Salad: The smallest and best suggested. My kids especially love the avocado casar dressing!
I love how soup can be, and how many different ways it can be made! I’ve made almost all of this soup on the stove, in a slow cooker, or in an instant pot. Here are my picks! (The links below are affiliate links and I may receive a commission from your purchase!)
- Quick Pot: My favorite thing about making soup in the Instant Pot is how fast it is! I can get the recipe started when I get home from the office and have a to-go dinner less than an hour later, basically a handshake. -> Buy my instant pot
- Slow Cooker: I choose a slow cooker when I need a nice whole house and I don’t want to risk my stove. Always faithful, always right. -> Buy my slow cooker
- For the Dutch Oven: This is the OG soup bowl, the only way I make soup on the stove. It gives you perfect coverage and just looks and feels so good. ❤️ -> Buy from my Dutch oven
