- Oreo cookies: Use regular Oreos for the crust, save the rest for the topping. You can grind them in a food processor or use a rolling pin to crush them in a ziptop bag.
- Unsalted Butter: helps to bind the crust.
- Granulated Sugar
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: Use Dutch ground cocoa in this recipe.
- Starch: It acts as a thickening agent, ensuring that the pudding sets well.
- Egg yolks: Add richness and help thicken the dessert. They also contribute to the silky texture.
- Whole Milk: use whole milk for a creamier pudding, but 2% also works.
- Vanilla Extract: Enhances the chocolate flavor and adds depth to the dessert.
- Gummy Worms: add more “dirty” Oreo fun!

Recipe Modification
- Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free chocolate sandwich cookies for the crust.
- Dairy-Free: Substitute coconut milk for whole milk and use dairy-free butter.
